Active Threat Response Training Options

Duration

4 Hour

About the Course

  • EDGE Virtual Response Training Simulator

    • Through a partnership with a Department of Homeland Security Contracted Agency, Cole Engineering, GET SAFE® is able to offer a unique scenario driven virtual training simulator that allows school personnel to train through response protocols. Each scenario offered allows for the option to include first responder personnel such as Police, Fire, and EMS. After each scenario, our instructor will conduct an After Action Review to assess the participants understanding of their roles in a real life scenario. The software for the simulator is free to the customer, but the time to train scenarios and conduct after action reviews is not.

  • How to Respond to an Active Threat using GET SAFE®’s Flee-Fortify-Fight Training

    • GET SAFE® personnel will conduct Active Threat Response training to encourage critical thinking in high stress moments. Additionally, the training covers administrative responsibilities such as: activating emergency response personnel, initiating lock down procedures, initiating communication protocols, and reunification procedures and plans. This option includes a site assessment of current facilities and hands-on activities to ensure best practices relevant to the customer are presented during the training

  • Live Scenario Simulation Training

    • GET SAFE® personnel will develop and conduct scenarios that allow staff to physically and cognitively process their own response to an active threat. This will include administrative responsibilities such as: activating emergency response personnel, initiating lock down procedures, initiating communication protocols, and reunification procedures and plans. Scenarios include a live suspect that participants can interact with based on school protocols. Equipment for this option includes a padded suit and eye protection. The scenarios will be drafted with learning objectives, measurable points of success and failure, and an After Action Review in writing format for the customer’s documentation.
